Pablo Alvarez Funes, RIBA, is a Chartered Architect with more than 10 years of experience practising traditional, classical architecture and urban design in the UK and overseas. He has been with Stanhope Gate Architecture since September 2010.
Pablo worked on the design of an Equestrian Complex in Spain and then relocated to London in 2012 to work on the master planning of a new sporting estate in Scotland, comprising of a major extension to a grade C listed country house and the refurbishment and a major extension of the existing farm/ stable quadrangle buildings. Pablo graduated as an architect from the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain in 2008 and received a Master’s Degree in “History and Theory of Architecture” from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain in 2013. As a Project Architect, he has worked closely with Interior Designers on Grade II and Grade II* buildings in Central London, leading the design and development of architectural schemes. Pablo was made an Associate with Stanhope Gate Architecture in 2018. Pablo has given numerous lectures and written articles on Islamic and Classical Architecture within the UK and abroad and is currently participating in a PhD at the Universidad del Pais Vasco, San Sebastian, Spain on “Geometry and Composition of Hispanic Muslim Architecture”. Pablo is also a member of the Traditional Architectural Group, a member of INTBAU and was also a founding member of the Spanish chapter of INTBAU.
